post grad trip..

viet trip din feel like a grad trip.. it felt more like a..excursion sorta field trip.. 12 days or rather, 11 days seem long initially.. but realize it ain't that long after all..anywayz.. been wanting to blog abt the trip.. but once again, i'm kinda lost for words.. cox there's too much to recall..

28th Apr - 1st May: went ard Hanoi..saw hcm's mummified body.. tho word has it that it cld be a fako..but who noes..heavily guarded..strict silence had to be observed.. 30th - overnight at Halong Bay. cox it was their Liberation Day.. the tour was kinda chaotic.. we were sorta 'dumped' here and there by our tour guidessss.. otherwise, the trip's really relaxing.. love the boat rides!! boat as in.. those big boat.. nt those that will sway on choppy waters.. yup.. survived the boat journey..

2nd May to 4th May: touched down at Da Nang.. and went straight to Hoi An..Hoi An was super relaxing.. lil town.. and making clothes!! all of us juz went crazy making clothes.. and more custom made clothes.. wld think that's the biggest shou huo4 for all of us..
3rd May - 1/2 day tour in My Son.. some ruins from the Chap ethnic grp..and things abt scriptures and stuff.. really historic ruins..
4th May - Hue's more of sightseeing and walking..they had this Citadel aka viet's forbidden city that is so similar to china's forbidden city!! juz that it's v much smaller and nt as.. grand..? the place isn't as well-preserved i shld say.. hope they'll do a better job at that.. and ar.. from that trip.. i think viet has got much similarities as china..as in.. greatly influenced by china.. which makes alot of sense.. since viet used to be a tributary/satellite state of china..

5th May to 9th May: HCM city is so modern!! we finally got to see high-rise building there!! haha!! love the guesthouse we were staying at.. Luan Vu gives a homey feeling.. and we finally din hafta wear slippers ard in the room!! & their receptionists r super friendly and helpful!! =))
6th May - day tour to Cao Dai temple and Cu Chi tunnel..Cu Chi tunnel was tiny.. even though the tunnel has already been enlarged to fit bigger size ppl.. i practically had to duckwalk-crawl thru.. literally bathed in my own sweat after i came out of the tunnel..
7th May - Mekong delta was beautiful!! Sampan ride was more stable than expected.. lucky none of us fell into the river!! hee hee.. love lying in a hammock.. if only i cld haf one at home..
8th May -HCM city tour.. hm.. went Notre Dame Cathedral.. General POst office has got v oldie phone booths!! went reunification palace.. kinda reminds me of a place in another country that i juz cldn't recall.. War Remnants Museum.. showed some gruesome pics of the viet war.. tho it's seriously 1-sided recollection.. but since the museum's existed for qte some time goes to show there's truth in it.. anyway.. the air in that 'museum'(actually it's more of a gallery??)was stifling!! tot it's gonna be air-conditioned but it's nt!! wat museum!! okok.. enough of that.. anywayz.. super glad we ended the trip in hcm.. and nt the other way rd.. =)

soon.. it was time for us to leave.. in all.. it was a crazy trip w crazy ppl!! no la.. it's a wonderful trip w fun-loving ppl!! =; and i miss.. BLOO!! foster's home for imaginary frenz..
